Comenius project:  ”Different roots but equal as European!”

In this Comenius-project 5 schools with a students’ population with “different roots” collaborate to improve their abilities to cope with the fact that their students have different origin, skin colour, culture and even language. The list of challenges ‘foreign’ students bring with them is long. A bad integration often means bad schoolresults and later less interesting jobs and so may be poverty!

The project wants to contribute in looking for solutions. The schools will exchange expertise on dealing with multiculturalism at school. Every meeting, external specialists are invited to bring expertise in the group.

But also the students play an important role in the project. Through a large variety of activities concerning topics of their own life, the teachers will try to get more information about how students with a different cultural background deal with these items. Meanwhile, the students learn the similarities and differences there are between contemporaries in Europe.
