The political institutions in Brussels are building a European identity.
Successfully, a European space was created. There is freedom of movement in a large part of Europe.
As for the construction of a European identity for individuals, a lot of controversies appear. Can Christianity be used for unifying roots ? Can the classicism root of Europe (Greece) be used ?
Roots change over time, they are dynamic. They are invented every day. In many countries Christianity is today less important than before.
Two actual factors are hampering the building of a European identity : the globalization and the economical crisis.
Today, the schools have to deal with the problem of ‘involuntary migrants’, the children of migrants are going to a school in their host country. These students have a double life: one in the home country (family at home) and one in their guest country (society). Those students, compared with native students, are similar and different at the same time. Similar as they also use facebook, different as they have the cultural influence of the family. If the society wants to communicate with this group, you better use the common communication canals.
